“I’d like to thank the hundreds of donors who have contributed to the Foundation over these many decades. With your generosity and commitment to education, the South Seattle Foundation can help change the life of a student forever.”

From our Board Chair

Greetings Friends,

Welcome and thank you for visiting the South Seattle College Foundation website. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or have followed the work of the Foundation for years, I hope you find it informative and inspiring. The Foundation began its mission over 40 years ago and has been helping to change the lives of South Seattle College students since its beginning.

The core mission of the Foundation is to provide students with annual scholarships to pay for tuition, books and fees, so they can pursue a quality academic or vocational education. We do this through relationship building, fundraising, and stewarding resources.

South Seattle College has one of the most diverse student populations of any college in the state. Many students are the first in their family to attend college, or perhaps English is their second language, or are new arrivals to the US. With these barriers, it is easy to understand that without the help of the Foundation many of these students would never be able to pursue their educational dreams and help improve their lives or their families. This is what makes the work of the Foundation so rewarding and inspiring!

South Seattle College Foundation is making a meaningful difference in the lives of the students, faculty, and administrators of South Seattle College. This is done through the efforts of our current Director and Board Members who all have a passion for education and are dedicated to the continued stewardship of the Foundation.

With gratitude,
Walter Reese | Board Chair
